Warren Buffet, known as legendary investor, is one of the most successful investors in the world. The investor is noted for his adherence to the value investing philosophy. He spent $30 billion on a railroad, which has been called “bet on the US economy”. Rail traffic surges 20% from a year earlier. He made investment in Hochschild, Kohn and Co and acquired stocks in the Washington Post Company. His acquisition of 12% stake in Salomon Inc. in 1987 made him the largest shareholder.

Warren Buffet is currently running his own company in addition to buying and selling investments.

John Paulson rose to fame for his multi-billion bet against subprime mortgages. He has bought up tracts of raw land with belief that land prices are coming back. In 2009, Paulson garnered $2.3 billion from fees received from his hedge fund.
