Happiness is what people deserve in their life. While we would not entirely convinced of this marriage between science and happiness, we recommend ten things that determine human happiness.
Having lots of friendships
As a matter of fact, the extroverts are happier than introverts. According to happiness researcher Ed Diener, extrovert people often love to spend time with friends and family rather than being alone. Numerous researches pointed that being extroverted and having a wide social circle are major facts to consider people are happy or not. It is also the main reason to explain how some people live to be 100 or older.
Having lots of friendships
Exacting fairness
Researchers at Rutgers found out that people’s happiness is somehow affected by a perceived fairness for everyone involved and the reward centers in the brain light up in situations in which people are treated equally
Developing a skill
Psychology professor Dr. Timothy A. Pychyl said that the effort and devotion “develop the rich experiences that make life meaningful”
Liking yourself
Liking oneself is the principal characteristic of happy people. The people have high self-esteem and far fewer prejudices than others do
Having a short memory
If you are not the one who hold grudges and pry forgiveness out of you, you are probably a happy person. The ability to forgive and forget is proved and referred by researchers of centenarians as the key to live up to 100 years old
Thinking ahead
Harvard psychologist Daniel Gilbert states in the book “Stumbling on Happiness” “happiness is derived from the ability to accurately project what will in the future make us happy -- not those things that actually do”
Defining success
Gallup psychologist Shane Lopez explained that “Self-referential people see themselves as the marker. They care about their own performance, not how they measure up compared to that guy over there…. The only competitor is the self”
