The demand for Iphone 5, the thinnest smartphone in the world, has exceeded the initial supply after Apple unveiled the new version of its iconic smartphone. In the first 24 hours of availability, iPhone 5 pre-orders topped 2 million, Apple has announced. More than 5 million iPhone 5 phones were sold in the first three days, setting a new sales record for the device.

Besides a slimmer and far lighter screen with an extra row of home screen icons, a faster 4G network has hit the iPhone 5, which also comes with a number of software updates, including Apple’s new in-house maps feature. The newest model of Apple is designed with a new and long-anticipated smaller “Lightning“dock connector, which visibly reduces the footprint of the old 30 pin iPhone dock. The headphones port's new position on the bottom satisfies users’ expectation for a new version of iPhone. Moreover, the 5 runs A6 chip, which is faster as twice as the previous A5. In addition, the latest IPhone's display colors are bright and rich (it has 44 percent more color saturation than the 4S), text is expectedly crisp, and high-resolution images look stunning.

Apple Inc. (AAPL) says advance sales of its iPhone 5 topped 2 million units in one day, more than double the record set by the previous model of the device. Two color combinations of the new model are White and Silver, and Black and Slate. However, the White and Silver iPhone 5 looks more elegant.

The headphone’s position on the bottom and smaller dock connector look more fashionable and comfortable for users.

The iPhone 5 gets an additional microphone for a total of three. You'll find one on the bottom, one on the handset's front face, and one on its rear side.

Some sales reps claim that Apple’s Lightning to 30-pin adapter is not included with the iPhone 5. Buyers who need the adapter for existing devices will have to pony up $29 for a small stub adapter or $39 for a 7-inch adapter cable.

Samsung Galaxy S4: US Release date, Specs, Price and Everything You Need to Know

The Galaxy S4, Samsung Electronics Co’s latest flagship phone, was unveiled at Manhattan's iconic Radio City Music Hall in New York City on Thursday evening (March 14, 2013). It is the first in the South Korean giant's highly successful Galaxy S-series to make its global debut on U.S. soil. The Galaxy S4 will ship in April on 327 carriers in 155 countries and come in two colors: white frost and a black mist. Despite looking a lot like the Galaxy S3, the Galaxy S4 is designed with a number of upgrades from its predecessor. The phone weighs 130g and is 7.9mm thick, making it slightly lighter and thinner than the S3. Meanwhile, the entire phone is still made of tough polycarbonate. Samsung Galaxy S4 sports a 5-inch HD Super AMOLED display with a 1,920x1,080-pixel screen resolution. The new handset also has a 2-megapixel front-facing camera lens and a built-in 13-megapixel camera, which will take crisper and better low-light shots. Especially, there are new features like dual shot and recording mode, which lets you combine video and photos from both the user-facing camera and the rear camera into one video or shot.

Samsung Galaxy S4 is unveiled at a glittering event at New York's famous Radio City Music Hall on Thursday night (March 14, 2013). The phone is expected to sell for about £480 SIM-free.

The Galaxy S4 has a built-in 13-megapixel camera, which uses new camera functions Dual Shot, Eraser, Drama Shot, and Sound & Shot. Beneath the back cover, there is a microSD card slot that can store up to 64GB in external memory, to go along with the 64GB internal storage.

The phone, which is able to take two different pictures at once, runs Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean and. It has a 2,600mAh battery and a quad-core processor and 2GB of RAM.

Side-by-side comparison: Samsung Galaxy S4 is somehow smaller than the Galaxy S3 at 136.1 x 69.8mm, weighing 130g. The new smartphone is 7.9mm thick, making it thinner than its predecessor S3.

Samsung Galaxy S4 will come in two colors: white frost and a black mist in April 2013.

Samsung Galaxy S4 will come with a horde of accessories and cases. The release date in the UK is 26th April 2013. The European launch price of the smartphone will fluctuate anywhere between €600 and €700 while the S4 has been listed with an “approximate retail value” of $579 in the U.S.

Samsung’s Tizen smartphone: Release date, specs and pictures

Samsung is reported to being teaming up with Japanese carrier NTT Docomo to launch a Tizen-based smartphone in 2013. The South Korean manufacturer, the Japanese mobile communications company and their partners hope to build a platform that will rival Google's Android and Apple's iOS. There are other UK-based carriers such as France Telecom and Vodaphone, which are interested in this Tizen-based smartphone. Samsung's Tizen smartphone is said to launch in Japan first under Docomo while other countries are expected to get the handset around the same time. Tizen, a Linux-based operating system that emerged from the demise of Nokia's MeeGo, is touted to be more open Android and HTML5-friendly by its makers. Apart from phones, Tizen can work across multiple devices such as in-car infotainment systems, netbooks, tablets and Smart TVs.

Samsung released the first images of its Tizen smartphone prototype with a few scant specifications such as a 4.3-inch HD display and 1.2GHz dual-core ARM processor.

Working with Docomo, Japan's market leader and the only major cell phone company in Japan that didn’t sell the iPhone, Samsung was said to launch the Tizen smartphone sometime in 2013.

Based on Linux, the Tizen operating system was designed to be an easy, new platform that would rival the major operating systems from Apple and Google.

The Tizen operating system, which could be used for devices such as televisions and tablets, was announced after the death of MeeGo. Samsung and Intel then took over the development of the operating system, which was also overseen by the Linux Foundation.

BlackBerry 10 coming with video chat, screen sharing and new task manager

Although Research In Motion’s BlackBerry 10 is still under development and not yet a finished product, there is a set of leaked slides showing BlackBerry Messenger (BBM) boosts and a new task manager. According to these newly leaked slides, BlackBerry Messenger is set to be updated in a big way with not only full-on video chat but also screen sharing for all. With BBM, you will be able to capture a photo as well as tap one of your vast collection of apps to share outright – Facebook, Picasa and Flickr. You can also seamlessly transfer between video chat and screen sharing, which is great for directions for businesses. Besides, with BBM, you will be able to share to one person or to your newly forge BBM Group if you wish as well. Apart from featuring the video chat and screen sharing, the Blackberry 10, which is slated to launch on January 30 simultaneously in multiple markets across the globe, will come with a new task manager for the OS called "BlackBerry Remember.” This new feature will help you capture and keep clean all of your notes from all different directions. It can also sync with Outlook and may include Evernote integration.

RIM’s new phone BlackBerry 10 is set to release at the end of January 2013 and it will include the video chat feature that includes screen-sharing capabilities, a la Skype.

The BlackBerry 10 will include the new task manager “BlackBerry Remember,” which allows you to sync with Outlook for email and work directly with Evernote right out of the box.

The BlackBerry 10’s widgets, app lists, homescreens and a unified inbox are merged into one slick interface that offers up an easy-to-navigate user experience.

The upcoming smartphone’s main homescreen will comprise of “Active Frames,” technically mini-applications giving users an overview of information from a particular app and launching the full version when tapped.

iPhone 5 vs Samsung Galaxy S3: Which one is better?

The two smartphones Iphone 5, officially presented in San Francisco on Wednesday morning, and Samsung Galaxy S3 seem to be the most powerful ones on the market these days. The Iphone boasts a 4-inch "retina display" screen and will be the thinnest Apple smartphone at just 7.6mm thick while Samsung Galaxy S3 has an enormous 4.8-inch HD Super AMOLED screen, which displays vivid color and deep blacks at a maximum resolution of 720 x 1280. In terms of operating system, the iPhone 5 runs IOS 6, and Samsung Galaxy S3 runs the latest Android version “Ice Cream Sandwich”. Although the iPhone 5 will be LTE-powered, they may still lag behind compared to Samsung phones, which have long been LTE-capable. In addition, the iphone 5’s Siri will support for launching applications. Frankly, it's hard to say which device's interface functions more seamlessly or features the best apps - for the time being.

It looks like the iPhone 5 is actually following the lead of the Galaxy S3 in some features such as width and height.

Apple ups the screen size from 3.5-inch to 4-inch display that permits a fifth row of app icons on the home screen.

On paper, the two devices are exactly the same, offering an 8-megapixel primary camera and HD video at 1080p.

The iPhone 5 is made from glass and aluminium and will be the thinnest Apple smartphone.

The iPhone 5 will ship Sept. 21 in the U.S., UK, Canada, France, Germany, Australia, Japan, Singapore and Hong Kong. The launch will occur in additional countries on the 28th and in 100 countries by the end of the year.
