Wax Figures of 44 U.S. Presidents at Madame Tussauds

By Steve Brown

The life-size wax figures of all 44 U.S Presidents made their debut at Madame Tussauds Washington D.C. on Feb. 17, 2011, just a few days later on Presidents’ Day (February 21). Actually, there are only 43 figures because Grover Cleveland, who served two nonconsecutive terms, is counted twice as No. 22 and No. 24.
Each has a historical setting to represent his piece of history and look more authentic. For example, George Washington rows across the Delaware river, Franklin D. Roosevelt sits near a radio and fireplace, Ronald Reagan stands beside the Berlin Wall, George W. Bush is surrounded by 9/11 images and Barack Obama poses in front of the Oval Office.

It took the Madame Tussauds wax museum much time to carefully research the eyes, hair, skin tone and other features of U.S. Presidents through hundreds of pictures and many videos. Then, they spent an average 3-4 months making one wax figure. Total cost of the project is estimated to be $2 million.
The presidential gallery now adds the important component of education and attracts more attention of people at all ages. Some teachers expect that their students can visit this exhibition and enlarge history knowledge.

Manchester City vs Fulham 2012 Highlights 3-0 All Goals (Video)

By Chris Elliott

The pressure is put on Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini as he leads Manchester City to host arch rival Fulham at Etihad Stadium, Manchester on Saturday, 4th February 2012 during the English Premier League 2011-2012 season.

Man City’s 1-0 defeat away to Everton on Tuesday night has opened up a title race with neighbours Manchester United who shares the same 54 points on the standing. Manchester City needs to grind out a victory against Fulham as they must keep winning to relieve the pressure on themselves and put it back on United and third-placed Tottenham. Otherwise, Manchester City’s failure to beat Fulham on Saturday will allow United to go clear when they visit Chelsea on Sunday.

Manchester City have won 16 consecutive games at home in the Premier League and scored more goals than any other teams in the Premier League (60 times in 23 games). Thanks to stingiest defense in the top-flight, Manchester City have conceded only 19 goals so far. However, it can not be denied that Man City has broken out of the traps at the start of the season. Since the famous 6-1 victory at Old Trafford, they have won only two away games, at QPR and Wigan, with a grand total of 8 points from seven games.

The Cottagers, who stand at 13rd position on the table, have been unable to beat City in the last five league meetings but drawn on three occasions. Fulham historically have a very poor away record in the Premier League by the fact that they have only won only four of their last 48 games on the road in this season so far.

Domnica Cemortan: Costa Concordia Captain Francesco Schettino’s Mistress (Pictures)

By Henry Funk

Reportedly, just minutes before Costa Concordia cruise ship accident at around 9.40pm on 13 January, Captain Francesco Schettino was having an intimate dinner with a blonde and young girl. Days after investigation, divers found some pieces of bikini and clothing on Francesco Schettino’s cabin which is believed to belong to the same blonde lady.

The blonde woman is identified as a 25-year-old Moldovan former dancer and crew member Domnica Cemortan who reportedly did not appear on any official manifest for the Costa Concordia. She later told Italian investigators that she was on the bridge as a "guest" of the captain at the time of the crash. While Ms Cemortan is not accused of any offence, Francesco Verusio, the chief prosecutor in the case, believes her testimony would be key in establishing exactly what happened on the bridge that night and whether the captain was distracted.
